1841 1d Red-brown, a FU single from this SCARCER EARLY plate, with four close-but-clear(NW)-to-VERY LARGE margins, on entire letter Greenock to Inveraray, dated 17 December 1841, cancelled and tied with a VERY FINE example of the SCARCE DISTINCTIVE GREENOCK MALTESE CROSS. Very gentle filing bend across top does not adversely affect the stamp. In the SCARCE STATE 2 after the (?)late repair (according to SG - early repair according to Stone & Statham), showing re-entry mark NE and letter 'B' thinned. NE break still present. A RARE COMBINATION of distinctive cross and second state... Cat.500++. New!

1841 1d Red-brown, a FU+ single from this SCARCER EARLY plate, with four close-but-well-clear(NW)-to-LARGE margins, on SCARCE IRISH entire letter KILKEE (a tiny village on the west coast of Co.Clare), via Kilrush and Ennis, to LIMERICK, dated 24 August 1842, nearly 12 MONTHS after the plate was taken from press, lightly cancelled and tied with a black Maltese Cross. NE break. Cat.200+. 50.00

Also on front, a large part strike of the VERY SCARCE MOUNT RADFORD 'PENNY POST'. NE breaks, and 'H' misplaced high left. Cat.120++. 35.00
